Vaastu Shastra rules in building construction

In Vaastu Shastra, the construction of buildings according to the direction is considered important, according to this, there are eight major directions that affect all the activities of the human being. Each direction has a special significance. If you follow the Vaastu principles as per the directions at home or workplace, it has positive results on your life. Based on these eight directions, the description of the architectural configuration of the residence/workplace and each room built in them comes in Vaastu Shastra.
According to Vaastu Shastra, the universe is infinite. It has neither position nor direction. But we are directions to the earthlings. These directions are based on the planet Sun and the Earth’s magnetic field, which makes life possible on Earth. It is worth mentioning here that the representatives of the eight basic directions are gods, who have a special effect on that direction. Its detailed description is given below.
Here we are describing the eight basic directions and their importance along with the best use of each direction. Since Vaastu has a scientific basis, the guidelines mentioned here are completely justified:
East- The representative deity of this direction is Sun. The sun rises from the east. This direction is the direction of launch. It is suggested to make the main entrance of the building in this direction. There are two arguments behind this. The first is to give hospitality to the Sun, the god of the direction, and the second scientific argument is that due to the main entrance in the east, the availability of sunlight and air remains in sufficient quantity in the building. The para-violet rays of the morning sun keep the house energetic by eliminating the micro-organisms that arise during the night.
North- The representative of this direction is Kuber, the lord of wealth. This direction is also of the pole star. The pole star located in the north direction in the sky is a symbol of stability and security. This is the reason that this direction is considered best for all economic works. It is suggested to make the entrance of the building or the living room/living room in this part. The northern part of the building is also kept open. Since India is located at the northern latitudes, the northern part remains brighter. This is the reason why it is suggested to keep the northern part open so that the light entering the house from this place is not obstructed.
North-East (northeast angle) This direction is considered to be the best direction among all other directions. The angle formed at the confluence of the North and East directions is the Northeast angle. There should be no garbage or toilet etc. in this direction. Northeast should be kept open or water source can be made on this part. The overall effect of both the north-east directions falls on the northeast. Due to the influence of the east direction, the angle of illumination is illuminated by the illumination of the morning sun, then due to the north direction, the rays of light fall on this place for a long period. If a water source is made in the northeast, then the para-violet rays of the morning sun clean it.
West – This direction belongs to Varuna, the god of water. When the sun sets, darkness makes us feel the cycle of life and death. It shows that where there is a beginning, there is also an end. The heat of the evening sun and its infra-red rays have a direct effect on the western part, due to which it becomes hotter. This is the reason why these directions are not considered appropriate for singing. Toilets, bathrooms, stairs, or storerooms can be constructed in this direction. Trees can also be planted in this part.
North-West (Vayavya angle) This direction belongs to the wind god. The northwest part is also affected by the scorching light of the evening sun. Therefore, this place has also been described as suitable for toilets, storerooms, bathrooms, etc. By constructing toilets, bathrooms in the northwest, other parts of the building are saved from the heat of the evening sun, while this heat helps in keeping the toilet and bathroom clean and dry.
South- This direction belongs to Yamraj, the god of death. South direction is also related to our past and ancestors. A guest room or bedroom for children can be made in this direction. There should not be open places like balconies or gardens in the south direction. By not leaving this place open, it remains neither too hot nor too cold during the night. Therefore, this part is best for the bedroom.
South-West (Southwest Angle) – This direction is of Nairuti i.e. stable Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth). Almirah, vault, or bedroom of the homeowner should be made in this direction. Since south and west directions meet in this direction, so this direction is better for ventilation. This is the reason why it is suggested to make the home owner’s living room in this direction. Install the vault or almirah in the western wall of this part.
South-East (Agneya angle) The representative of this direction is the god Agni. This direction is the direction of heat, vitality, and energy. This direction is best for the kitchen. Due to the direct effect of the ultraviolet rays of the morning sun, the kitchen remains free from bacteria like fly-mosquito. On the other hand, South-West i.e. the representative direction of air also cannot attenuate the fire burning in the kitchen.
